BEAUTY IN THE BEASTHighlight Films presents: The documentary film, Beauty in the Beast, following Roman Greenberg, The Jewish boxing champion.Twenty-five year old Roman Greenberg is the great Jewish hope. One of the hottest names in heavyweight boxing today, Roman Greenberg immigrated to Israel from Russia at the age of 11. With an amazing professional record of 25 wins (19 knockouts) and zero losses, experts predict that within the next two years Roman will be the world's first Jewish heavyweight boxing champion, holding the title previously given to Muhammad Ali, Jo Frasier and Mike Tyson. Roman is no stranger to hardship. On the family's arrival in Israel, they camped outside the offices of the Ministry of the Interior in cardboard boxes. "Every morning my mother would hide the boxes, so that during the day we could pretend we'd just arrived." Roman began his training in local gyms. He won his first fight at the age of 13 with a knockout after 11 seconds. Four years later, he was spotted by the British boxing promoter Robert Waterman. Sensing Roman's potential, Waterman took the young boxer to London and hired a professional training team. Their goal? To make Roman the world heavyweight boxing champion. Roman spends most of time in London, and flies to professional fights all over the world. His last fight ended in another victory, this time in Madison Square Gardens in New York. After every win, he takes the next flight to Israel, where he hangs out with his old friends. He considers himself an Israeli, and always wears a big Star of David on his boxer shorts. Roman follows Israeli politics, dates Israeli girls and considers himself an ambassador of Israel and the Jewish people to professional boxing. He is fluent in Hebrew, English, Russian and German.
